“Padma Lakshmi on grief and work”
•
[0:00-0:45] Padma: Hi, I'm Padma Lakshmi.
And I have had a very close relationship with grief at times in my life. Most recently I lost my grandmother and I was devastated. She practically raised me and I had to go back to work just a week after she passed and I was totally ill prepared to do that. I didn't know how to process my grief. I didn't know when it would strike or how hard it would hit me in odd moments while I was on the job. And it can also feel really lonely because when the funeral is over and everyone's moved on, you're still there under that cloud and often the more you love someone, the more you grieve them when they pass. But most companies only give three bereavement days, which is not enough, not nearly enough. So join me and Option B on this Grief Awareness Day to find out how you can help this cause and make sure we all have the time and space to honor and grieve our loved ones.
