When you’re grieving, the most compassionate support can often come from those who share your experiences. Sometimes the people who just “get it” can be hard to find. When you sign up for an Option B Gathering, you’ll be virtually connected and regularly meet with a small group of people who have also experienced the loss of a loved one. Facilitated by trained hosts, a Gathering is a place where you can talk openly about your experiences with grief—the difficult times, the joyful moments, and everything in between. No matter who you are, or what experience with grief brings you here, you can find a supportive community at an Option B Gathering.
You can expect a welcoming and supportive online group, and an opportunity to build meaningful connections with people who know grief intimately, like you do.
By joining a virtual Gathering, you will be connected with a group of 12 to 15 peers whose experiences have something in common with yours—whether that’s who you’ve lost, the stage of life you’re in, or how grief is affecting you right now. A trained host will then gather your group on a video call and kick off an open, informal conversation. You’ll talk for about 90 minutes to two hours. You can share as much or as little as you’d like.
We are grateful to have run a pilot with The Dinner Party, whose mission is to transform life after loss from an isolating experience into one marked by community support, candid conversation, and forward movement using the age-old practice of breaking bread.
